    Default Pot-bellied Lesser Scaup

I like the pose on this skittish little gal...normally the white underbelly is underwater - she looks alot bigger than she really is this way. She acted quite natural, unknown to her that I was hiding/shivering behind some rocks watching her in the bone chilling weather we had Sunday.

    Canon 40D +100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, eval metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 640, +1.7 EC, natural light, handheld, ~85% full-frame.

P.S. just noticed a piece of debris I need to clone out to her left (our right).

Great close-up Dan. Nice head turn with a touch of catchlight in the eye.

Very nice, Dan. Lovely soft light and pose works well. Amazing smoothness of the wet breast feathers. Would be interested to see this with all the grey streaks in the BG lightened to an almost uniform pale BG. That eye is great.
