I'm very reluctant to post this but just wanted to show the acrobatic prowess of these beautiful birds. Taken at the Green Cay Wetlands with the Canon 50-D Iso=250 at f/5.6 and 1/400th
of a sec. 0.0-Ev and 400-MM with a 100-400-L. I kind of know what 's wrong but thought the pose was very cool. Thank you so much for the visits and comments it is all very appreciated.

Very interesting behavior captured, this bird is really determined. :) I can't figure out what the BG is, though.

I agree that's one neat pose!! Some mighty strong light, but the shot works for me, other than the horizontal banding. Is that something in the background, or something else?

Bill this is great! Unique for sure. I see some colour noise in the neck of the bird which would be easy to get rid of. You may be able to tone it down by turning down the SAT.

That is the Boardwalk at Green Cay, when i started to edit this image I thought it worked really well to my advantage because of the position of the bird, am i wrong ?

Bill, colour noise are the random coloured pixels that are most obvious in dark areas and accentuated if they are lightened in post processing - boosting the saturation enhances the colours and makes it more obvious. Having said that when I look at your image and enlarge it I am not seeing much colour noise even though the impression is there when viewed at actual pixel size. I am seeing quite a lot of pixelation probably related to a degree of oversharpening. Despite all that a very interesting image. The board walk and railing shadows are a bit distracting although the dark lines echo the pose of the bird. In think the image does look a little oversaturated but am not familiar with this species. I would be interested in other's opinions.
