This tricolored heron was shot at the Wakotahatchee Wetlands, FL, mid-morning on an overcast day. Please let me know what can be done to improve it and thanks for looking!

Nice dynamic pose. I think a faster shutter speed would have helped. It seems a little soft and dark to me..

    Hi Shawn

You captured a nice pose and I like the reflection in the water against the dark bg. The image is a bit tight....more room below for the virtual legs would be preferable, with a bit more on the right if you have it. The image is oversaturated and toning that down will improve it a lot.

Hi Jody. I'll see if I can improve the softness. Is it the bg that is too dark? Thanks!

Thanks, Linda, you're so right! I'll go back and give it a try.

Shawn I like the overall pose in this image. I've not had the good fortune to personally see one of these birds yet but I would agree with Linda about the saturation.

    Hello Shawn,

I like the low angle of this image. The wings are in a good position as well but the bird looks like is going away from you. There is also a strong blue cast in your subject, due to over saturation.
