    Default Eastern Meadowlark

Sorry all, but I just love these birds. They're challengingly timid, yet gullable enough to work if done right, and beautiful when captured in the right light and setting. That, and I've found a place that's just crawling with them 5 minutes from my house (always a nice feature) ;) Anyway, I like the evnironment on this one, and the light was really nice.

Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L with 1.4x TC, f/5.6, 0 EV, ISO 200, 1/640, off tripod about 18 inches off the ground to clear some grass.

Light couldn't be nicer! I like the pose and BG, the grasses are a plus IMO here and not distracting at all, compo is great, to my personal taste it is a very little bit overexposed, but htta's me :)
Congratulaitons Bob!! It is indeed a great shot!

Thanks Ramon. I had thought about taking it down just a bit, but the histogram said it was right where it should be. The detail on the full size is really nice on this one. It's cropped from horizontal, but is still quite large and extremely detailed. You can see the intricate detail in the yellows and whites quite clearly at full size. It's definitely not blown anywhere, but might look nice a bit darker.

It doesn;t look blown at all Bob, as said, IMO it might help to take it down just a little bit, histogram is a nice too to know if whites are irreversible hot or dark areas too dark, but I don't usually have my images ruled by it :)

Can see why you like these, Bob. Light, pose and crop are great.

Just wish it was a little darker. I like this close-up view of these skittish guys.
