I took this photo last year in early September at Lake Tully in central Massachusetts, USA.
He let me float very close in my little boat and never spooked. I love his "hair do" and green legs.

Nice capture Bee. The comp is good (maybe a little less room at bottom), and love the dragonfly. I think with some processing you could really boost the image impact. I would try increasing contrast (Levels or Curves in Ps), saturation and some sharpening.

You got him at the right moment!
I did use curves to lift the exposure, neutralized the color cast in Nik Color Effex and added a bit or warmth and saturation, finally a bit of sharpening and blurring of the BG. Hope you like it.

How could I not like it. To have my images edited by a fantastic pro is such an honor and privilege. I really am trying to put all this information to use and as soon as I can edit (like right now) I try to do so.

    Bee,
It is always nice to catch it with the prey. I had the 10D earlier and was never satisfied with the ISO 400. Ofcourse, the processing skills of Fabiola is fabulous. The repost looks much better. Were you handholding in the boat?
    Cheers,

I was handholding in the boat, which was floating toward the heron. I now have a 20D and like it better.
