Early this morning I found this egret up a tree looking at me. I captured a few images and decided to post this one because of the way he seems to be peeking through the branches at me. I do have some images of him from a different angle, which eliminate the branches and shadows that extend over his body. Is this one too "busy"? Would the others be preferable?

I cropped a bit and sharpened a bit -- that's all. On my last post I got some of the information wrong, so my notes have been double-checked this time. C&C, please . . .

it does show the bird in it's habitat, but i think i would prefer seeing it without all the business. you did an excellent job getting the eye sharp through all the branches!!! exposure looks great too!

I think the twig intersecting the beak people will be after you Wendell:) Maybe some of the branches cloned out from the sides would make it look less busy? Good HA.

    Wendell,
You have a good capture and image, the colors are good, especially the baby blue sky ...the white are in check, and you have a very sharp eye. My suggestion would be to clone out the branch that is touching your bird in the face and neck area...

Hi Wendell Its really cluttered and I'm sure you can come up with one showing the environment a bit different !!!

Here is another view of the same egret taken from a different angle. The camera settings were the same -- and, as was the case on the original post, I did only a crop and some sharpening.

Thanks to all for your criticism. it is very helpful.

(I hope I'm doing this "re-post" correctly; it is my first one.)

    Wendell.

    Much better Wendell,
The head angle is a little off. I would clone out the branches touching the body and the one coming out of the back...goos show...a much cleaner background...

OK, Gus, here is another image of that guy . . . you may like this head angle better, though the image is softer. I cropped a bit, sharpened a bit -- and cloned out two branches.

Hi Wendell - Keep after him - they are a lot less wary when they are up in a tree and you can usually work them from all sorts of angles for a good while.

Like the second one the best - would add a tad more sharpening.

    :)

Hi Lance -- believe I've concluded that I like the second one best, also. Appreciate your looking . . .
