Default A First Ever ~ "No Crop"

    Hi Folks:

As there seems to be a scarcity of birds in and around Green Valley, AZ, and with Gina's sister, Lee visiting from Bournemouth we decided to visit Reid Park Zoo in Tucson. Good choice, tons to see, and good food . . .

Between Gina & I we took hundreds of photos . . . now a chore to go through them for hopefully a dozen or so keepers . . . Liked this Peacock except that he stayed underneath the trees in the shade, and we had to use flash which created a shadow, could remove it, but not in the mood to work on the photo.

At about 6 feet away, and only a 140-600 lens I couldn't get too far away because of a fence and the trees..

    CC's welcome and always appreciated.

I like the pose very much and size in frame fine !!

If possible would have gotten closer with a shorter focal length for dof For these with so much detail at varying distances is tough having enough. Also the slow shutter speeds you are working with also makes it difficult stopping down but with shorter lens you get away with it !!! I like it a lot, got lots of peacock images but not this very pose !!!

nice pose captured, UG!! were you able to zoom in and get some closeups of the feathers using the flash? those irredescent colors shining with the flash would make a really nice abstract!! i must be on an abstract kick today.
