Fabs, This is very pretty-what exactly do you do w/ 8 exposures to get this effect-would I be able to do this?

    Denise,
some of the Nikon SLRs have this features, you set it up for multiples and tell the camera how many. It calculates the light needed for a good exposure and divides it by the # of them, There's an additional option, in case you don't take the same amount you told the camera, and it will render the perfect exposure. I moved the camera's position slightly for each take, hence the paint brush look.
You can have a similar effect using a picture, duplicating the layer and moving the new layer by a little bit and adjusting the opacity. You need to do this a few times. It's the closest you can get to the effect.
In the film days, you could do multiples, by not advancing the film, but you needed to calculate the total exposure and divide by the number of frames.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Fabs I always enjoy hearing the how to's of everyone.I find it seems to be easier to learn after you've seen the results-I guess it's motivation!

    Fabs,
Very nicely done! You inspire me to keep trying this technique, though for us Canon users it's a good deal more work.:D
