Lovely braking pose with flared tail and undercarriage lowered. Lack of light makes it very hard. Not sure what aperture and shutter speed you were needing with the ISO 500. Maybe increasing ISO and then more + exposure compensation would have been an option. The green light (?from grass) under the wings should be removable. The dark spot bottom right is a bit of a distraction but good result in difficult conditions.

It looks underexposed to me. Did you pull any detail out of the wings and is why the cast is there?

Since the duck is landing, I'd place him higher in the frame to give him room to descend.
    Lovely pose!

I like the pose and eye contact but it does look underexposed and I would sharpen the head a bit more.

Killer pose but too dark with a big green and yellow cast to the underparts. Took a few minutes to get the color closer to real (???). The main thing was making a QM of the underwings and belly and de-SAT-ing the GREEN and the YELLOW,

Agree with Fabs regarding the comp, and you have done very well considering the light.

Thanks Craig. I assumed that "Peregrine" was an obvious nickname--live and learn. Am headed to Bosque (with excitement) today; it is one of my soul places.
