From a trip to my moms home on Lake Ontario, western N.Y. I really wanted a image of these birds that also conveyed the changing of the seasons. As much as I want it to work I am undecided if it does.

Feel free to rip it to shreds if it has it coming.

Worn out 20D, 100-400 @ 350mm, 1/500, f/10. ISO 200. Desaturated the foliage because it seemed too over powering. Removed a birds neck LRC.

This is a great idea, Mike. The fall colours are lovely and the birds are sharp. I find the BG a bit busy and distracting and suspect it would work better with a wider aperture to blur the BG more. I have tried to give an idea of what I mean by selecting, blurring and slightly darkening the BG. Have added a bit of sharpening to the birds too.

The blurred BG of the repost improves the image. I would have increased the ISO to 400 for higher shutter speed as there is some motion blur.

Repost works well with the blurred BG.Its always difficult to bring out a subject against a busy BG.
