    I like the wing position, stretched neck, details and setting. I only wish the bird's right foot were visible.

    Lovely setting, pose, and composition. I agree with Axel that it was unlucky that the one grasshead obscured the rear foot.

    This blows me away. I love everything about this I've tried quite often to get images like this one, but it's always been too dark when I've seen herons flying into the grasses.

    May I ask what species this is? I would assume Great-blue if you were from North America.

    Yeah I saw your Belgium origin, thus my doubting my ID. Europe and Africa have some herons that look pretty similar to what we have in the new world.

    Apparently, you are currently visiting our continent? Admittedly, I haven't made it to Europe yet.

    Nope!..I'm living in Belgium, and never visited the states..yet..:)..grtz!
