    Default Pied Kingfisher hovering

Another from my trip to South Africa. This kingfisher was intermittently hovering looking for fish. In this case the wind and light were in the right direction for a reasonable pose and he was close enough to frame.

Typical hovering posture of the Pied Tony, and lovely wing spread captured too. I like the comp with the space you have left for him to look into. Well captured. ( As a matter of interest, where in SA did you capture this? )

Like the vertical crop; maybe just a smooch more room on the left ;-) Clarity and resolution are spot on. Great shot.

Love the placement of the bird up in the frame, the pose, and the sharpness.

Hi Tony, nice to see you got this one at our photo course:-). You did well to get him facing you, they almost always face away from you!
