Here is another one from the summer. I caught this guy cooling off on a branch hanging over the water at around 7:30 at night. Shot at Neck Point Park in Nanaimo.

Lovely feather detail and BG. Backlight blowing the ear tufts unavoidable. It would be a little nice if the iris of the right (bird's left) eye were more visible but still a very nice image.

Very nice, I'd soften the yellow patch over his head, it's a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing this one :)

No fair. Most of my critique appears above. I would eliminate the little branch just above the perch on the left frame edge. Love the feather detail.

Great find, adding to the other comments, I would sharpen the head a bit more and blur the BG.

Such a lovely subject, and excellent feather detail. You handled the lighting very well. PS tweaks have been mentioned.

    Hello Everyone,
Thank you for all of your comments. I took a chance putting this one up because I knew the lighting was not quite right. Still, I did not want to trash it as there was a certain charm to it and ofcourse the background composed of late season gary oak leaves. I will work on some of the changes that you all have suggested.

    Thanks again,

    Steve
