I took this photo a couple of weeks ago at the Viera Wetlands in Viera, Fl. The wetlands were closed due to the dike roads being damaged from tropical storm Fay so I investigated some of the side areas of the wetlands. The Wood Stork was 55m away. Shutter speed- 1/1250; AV mode; Exp. Comp -1/3; ISO 400. Shot with Canon EOS 40D, 500mm lens, 1.4 extender.
Hi James I normally can tell you were the image was taken but did not recognize it was from Viera !!!
I like the low angle, good exp, sharpness and raised foot Would suggest cropping some from the bottom, reflection is not strong. Will attain better flow with the longer proportion. Would also post at the max size.
agree with al on the crop from the bottom. looks like it may use a little CCW rotation too. cropping to just about the top of the head in the reflection looks great to me!!
Thanks for your comments. This is the storm water pond on the right just before the entrance to the click ponds and power lines. I had some sizing challenges. It looked like I had the file size at max but the file size was too big, so I reduced the size to reduce the kb size below 200kb.
james, i'm not sure what program you use, but you can reduce the output quality instead of reducing the size to overcome that problem. i'm sure there is a thread about how to do this in the educational forum!! i think fabs forns started it.
Thanks for all of the advice and the instruction on posting images to the we. So I have cropped the photo as suggested, performed a slight rotation, and saved to post to the web. Thanks again.
