    Hi Folks:

While up at Madera Kubo B&B in Madera Canyon, AZ the other day shot this little guy early in the morning, had to use some flash, and wasn't to keen with the results. So I took him into PS, Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Black & White. Turned on Tint, played with that, then with Brush tool painted over bird & tree with black at 100% opacity, then painted over the BG at 40% opacity. Fiddled a bit more.

    CC's welcome and always appreciated.

HI Gus For this one would take some off the top, looks strange the bird in mid frame !!! I think on this one the slow shutter speed gave some camera movement since its not razor sharp as all your image.

This might be the first I like the original better, the dark patch merging with the bill is detracting !!! Do like the bg color and goes well with the blue !!

    Hi Al:

Absolutely agree with you on your cc's . . . . sorta poor shot all around, however, cutting off top certainly looks better.

    Thanks Professor . . .

lol Oom Gus, think this time it's back to the paintbrush with your low opacity to paint out the white in the bg behind the bird. Would then make it stand out beautifully!! Like the 2nd crop!!:D
