In this time of the year it is very easy to find flocks of spanish sparrows arround the mature field of rice looking for a feast of grain. This image is from the past weekend in the nearby of Doñana while we were looking for cranes and geese. A very nice light with the sun very low on the sky and a dark background.

Nikon D2X AFS Nikkor 300VR+1,4XTC HSC mode (6,8 Mp) f6,3 1/1250s ISO320 manual exposure -0,33EV (additional underxposing in CS4 for a more dramatic light)

That is an impressive flock of birds, Juan. They remind me of Queleas in Africa. Lovely light and dark sky. I might be tempted to clean up some of teh more major cut-offs on the edges of the frame.

Great light and quite a flock. I agree with Tony regarding removing some of the clipped birds.

I love flock shots such as this. The light is beautiful and the sky color is lovely.

Beautiful colours, and the vast majority of the birds are sharp, it certainly works for me.
