This is a duck that we don't see often in the the north of the UK but there are reasonable numbers down south. When I take a trip down I always try and find some to photograph as they are a beautiful bird, especially when caught on the reflection of some autumn bankside foilage in some late afternoon sun.
Taken with 1Dmk3 and 500mm lens at ISO320 F5.6 -0.33EV at 1/640s with evaluative metering.
Beautiful, Rich. The colours and light are lovely. I like the blue on the ripples contrasting with the warm tones. I might crop a little from the bottom and add to the top to lower the bird a little in the frame.
