    These guys usually show up about this time of year in the state park across the road from me. I have plenty of photos of them hidden in juniper trees, but it was a rare treat to get one out in the open like this.

    Canon 20D, 400 5.6L, 1/320, f7.1, 430EX@-1 1/3rd.

    Great find and details. It does look a bit overflashed and maybe a bit more contrast.

    Very nice shot, it looks like you have the bird's attention.
    I would suggest a slight adjustment of the dark areas in curves whilst pegging the mid tones, this improves the contrast and the image pops out at you.
