I like the unusual perch and eye contact. Did you use flash? There is a dust spot above the bird's head.

Cool subject and excellent perch. There is just too much space all around...here is an alternate crop you might consider. I also modified what I thought was an odd WB (in PS Color Balance -18 Cyan and +30 blue). Hope you like!

What a great setting. I rather like the original composition. The perch and the bird really pop from the coastal setting. I also like the original white balance, at least on my monitor.

amazing shot., congrats... my composition suggestion would be to move the bird a little more right in the frame., and the more environment here the better., imo... well done.

Stunning image of a snowy, Gene. Wish we could get them here, but there again, we dont get snow. I love the eye contact, but going with Daniel's comp and BG colour. Still a great image, and well captured Gene.

No flash, it was taken about an hour before sunset, and I missed the dust spot.

Thanks Daniel. Don't know what happened to the white balance, the photo was taken close to sunset. Something happened during the processing, I had to clone out a telephone pole in the background which I do on TIFFs. I did something wrong in converting the TIFF to a JPEG. I have been posting in the eager to learn forum and the most common criticism of my photos is that they have been too tight in the frame. Have been trying to correct this but maybe I have gone too far in the other direction. Thanks again.
