Winter of 2007 for this one, and wish I had such a good chance to shoot these birds since then..!!

I believe Axel is right about the ID a red crossbill has no white in the wings and the White Wing has the white bars

Well done. Very nice clean setting. Agreed about the ID.

I too would probably clone out the OOF branches. They don't add anything to the shot, and the one that intersects the crossbill's chest is a bit distracting.
