at the Stuart Airshow last weekend. Mr Al told me to take the polarizar and give it a shot. so i took his advice and it worked like a champ!! really got some cool skies even though we were shooting into the sun:(

    D300, 18-200VR at 22mm, f/8, 1/320s, 0EV, ISO 200

slight crop off the bottom to remove the top of a head, established b&w control points, decreased contrast by 3 points, desat 3 points, opened up the shadows a bit, ran NR on the sky and standard sharpening only on the plane.

thanks for looking and comments appreciated.

Good colors and sharpness, Harold !

Yes, polarizar works even when you're not shooting at 90 degree from the sun or other light source, only that the effect may not be the strongest. It even works on cloudy days.

    Doctor Davis,
Very well done I like this very much. The colors are superb and the blue hues with the combination of cotton candy clouds really makes the plane stand out...good show...

Polarizer makes the colours really stand out on this one. Would you back off just a little so that the sky isn't quite so dark blue? Just NIDA:)

    Nice capture.

I enjoyed this image very much.

In close quarters one is forced to crop whether they want to or not!!
