Great pose and underwing details. I might sharpen the bird a tad more.

Very nice flight pose Jeff and good eye contact and as mentioned underwing detail. Your timing was great and many thanks for sharing.

Very excited this year Fabs. A farm will mega open property in the heart of the harrier and short-eared owl feeding grounds is allowing me onto their property to use my car as a blind!

Love the juvenile coloring of this bird. Nice sharp details and lovely flight pose. How great to have gotten permission to shoot on a property with such beauties! Looking forward to seeing more harrier and short-eared owl images!

Love the image, the great EXP, and the underwing detail. And super on the access. Is this a young or an adult male? My guess would be the latter.

    Artie,

I'm looking at the harrier photos in Brian Wheeler's Raptors of Eastern NA book and am not quite sure. Just shy of an adult perhaps based on some remaining color markings. I'll have to go back and get closer shots!

for me 'its a first winter bird,.. al feathers in the wings are nice/new and un-dameged..
older birds have more old and new plumage in the wing section, because they never change all feathers in one year!..nice shot bye the way!...kind regards!
