    Default Canada Geese

    Attached Images Attached Images

Taken last weekend behind the Gadsden Alabama mall one hour after sunrise. There was a low lying fog on the water. Could not get the front goose and tree both in focus so had to combine an earlier in-focus photo of the tree. ID mk III, Ev + 1 2/3 : 1/125 F 7.1, 500mmm, ISO 1250. Would welcome any suggestions/comments.

Hey Dick, I love love love this one. The light is amazing, the EXP good, and the COMP evocative. And the reverse C-curve of the geese is perfect. Man, this one is very good.

Great composition and mood. Does it need a bit CW rotation?

Wow. This is fantastic, Richard. I really love these high key images. My only question is how this would look with less contrast on the tree. Because it has the most contrast it comes forward in the image pulling attention from the geese. I have tried a version with reduced contrast (quickmask selection then lifting the black point of the curve) - not sure what you would think of this. Looking forward to more of your pictures.

Many thanks to all for the encouraging comments. Tony, I like the repost. Believe I will print both and look at them for a while.

Oh, this is so beautiful. I just love the serene foggy mood and the curve of the geese. I think Tony's repost keeps the mood better than the original. Wonderful capture and excellent exposure.

Tony's repost makes a bit more sense, but I still love the ORIG best. Maybe there was less fog up by the tree??? :) :D :)

Raymond, I am curious as to why you ask as the tree makes the image...

Raymond, All the images had the tree. I thought of cropping/masking it out but it just didn't have as much impact.
