    Default Full Moon and Sandhills

Went out the last two afternoons to catch the Sandhills taking flight as the moon rose. The first day was a bust, but yesterday was quite productive. Here's one from the outing.

Great light and timing. Wing positions good. Only improvement would be if there were no overlap but you have done very well with all the variables you have control over.

    David,
Well done. Separation of the two birds could have made it better but it is not a major issue for me. I would take a bit from the top. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,

Nicely captured David. I love the light on the two birds. I would also agree with Sabyasachi about cropping some off the top.

What was the date? Was this at Bosque? I love the wing position of the far bird, not so the wing position of the near bird... Adding some canvas right might be a good plan.

This was taken yesterday (11/12/08) just prior to sunset at the Bernardo Refuge, which I like better than Bosque for full moon shots. Exif is attached, which reminds me I need to change the clock.

Bosque already has over ten thousand snow geese, and the crane numbers are growing rapidly. Thanks for the good work you and your crew did on opening windows.

Thanks David. I just realized that for the first time in my memory there will not be a full moon while I am at Bosque...

    HI David,

Love the moon. I would like to see the wings in the upper position but this works very well.

The moon really makes this one for me. No overlap would have put it over the top.

Good work david, the timing is just about perfect. The wing positions are less than ideal but a great image anyway for sure.

I would crop off some of the empty space in the top of the image.
