    Taken in Lake Geneva, WI during 2007 emergence of 17 year cicada.

    Canon 180mm macro + 1.4X TC and EOS 1DM3; ISO 250; Evaluative metering +1/3; 1/250s at f8, Gitzo 1325 tripod and Wimberley II head.

    The comp is wonderful in this, I like how he seems to be staring you down, the dof is excellent as well. Great contrasting colors between the cicada and the bloom, this all comes together to make a great shot :)

    Very cool keith. Love it, wish I was there!!!

    If I could find anything to improve, on my monitor it looks a smidgen washed out or overly bright on my PC. Strange usually images look to dark end up being processed on a Mac. Strange this is the reverse. I would mask the head and darken the rest for a richer more dense image.
