    Hi all,

Been a while! Anyway, captured this image a few nights ago at Edithvale bird hide while staking out another species. Would have liked to be lower but still think it works okay (and couldn't get any lower - restricted to positions of viewing slots in the hide).

    Thanks for looking.

    Canon 20D and 500mm L IS with 1.4x TC, ISO 200, 1/125 sec, f/5.6, AV @0.
PS CS2 - very slight crop, sh-h, levels, curves, sat, noise red on BG and selective usm on bird

Dean nice head turn and sharp red eye. I might be tempted to clone out some of the white spots (feathers?) on the water's surface as well as the large white reflection near the bird's bill.

Very nice, Dean. I love the way the bird stands out from from the BG. Would only clean up some of teh specks on the water. Wish it weren't quite up to it's belly - seeing the top of the legs would be nice but you have no control over these things

Good image here. I agree with the others about cleaning up the water. I think I'd like to see a bit more of the reflection as well if you have it.

Thanks for the comments guys...suggestions noted and incorporated into this repost. Tony, I have an image from this series where the tops of the legs are visible...will post over the next few days.

    Cheers, Dean

The repost is a big improvement. Adding to the other comments, I'm wondering if the full reflection would improve the image.

Everything has been noted. Can only add that it is a good image. Bird I'm not familiar with.
