    Default Lighthouse Keeper's House

This is the lighthouse keeper's house at the Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde Maine.

The tilt shift lens was awesome in getting the shot to begin with. Impossible to do it from this angle without it.

I converted to B&W using Nik Color Effects Pro and a bleaching filter on there as well.

The image ended up looking like something out of the Amityville Horror

    5d + 24mm t/s
    Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
    Aperture: f/14

Michael I like the super close-up and the bleach filter used. It makes a cool effect

Michael, How about a post without bleach and just B&W for comparison?

Having seen the both bleach and straight B&W, the bleach definitely has better whites. It stands out a lot more. the details in the clapboards up above the door are more evident, giving the image more punch. Thanks for posting it so quickly Michael.

Love having the comparison. I agree that the top print has much more impact. I would respectfully suggest toning down the one lighter area in the BG on the left side. If you could lower the brightness there I think the entire building would pop off the screen even more.

Am I crazy or does it need a bit of CCW rotation?

    Doing well Mike !!!

Jules you are seeing distortion in the image Check out just the upper third !!!! They should come out straight with the TS lens !! Mike did you have to do some perspective adjustments? Those lenses are great but do have a limited tilt capability ... for more you need a view camera .. next step !!! :)

Al, I think I should have shot this a tad more on the right to avoid the distortion. the image taken with a regular wide angle looks really weird. I was pretty close to the building.

view camera huh? i'd love to play with one of those, but too bulky to schlep around.
