Made a change of venue yesterday and went to Okeeheelee Park and found this little guy.
    Canon 50-D ISO=200 at f/6.3 1/50th of a sec. with a -0.3 exp.comp. and 500-MM-L lens.

Nice pose, eye contact and soft light. The bird looks a bit soft on my monitor. Is this a heavy crop? The BG is a bit busy but not too bad.

Thanks Axel and no the crop was not to large, I don't think but I can post the original if you like.

In that case maybe a higher ISO and shutter speed would have helped.

I agree with Axel's comment, it seems a bit soft and the BG is a bit bussy, still, the pose and colours made it for me! Congratulaitons!

Even with perfect technique I always try to stay above 1/60 sec... So yes, a much higher ISO was in order...

Axel what would you do in the case of the backround, it's wildlife photography.

Hi Bill, I for one can admire a photo for what it is. I see it is a "natural" shot in a "natural" setting. You have captured a beautiful bird in the wild. If you are so inclined think about a set-up shot with a perch and BG of your liking.
