The harsh light creating nasty contrast is what hurts this image most. I'm sure you'll get other opportunities in earlier morning or later evening hours. Good behaviour observed from the GBHs...behaviour we never get to see up here :-)
Thanks Daniel. Right you are. I will get one before I finish down there. If course when the light is right, most everything is blurred?? :)

I agree. The harsh light ruins the image. Just look at the shadows of the eyelids. You may try some fill flash to lighten up the shadows.
Cheers,

When lighting is like this, try your best to use fill flash or pack up and go get something to eat!
if you've shot in Raw, a Combined conversion sometimes helps.
Yes, harsh light is often an image killer, and when you are not working right down your shadow line ("Point your shadow at the birds!"), it is even more true but only 100% of the time... I like the high stepping going on...

The go get something to eat sounds good. I really didnt realize the light was this bad. I think my camera is still on old time and this was around 8:15am or so. Dont know what could have happened. We were gone before 9:am. Oh well I've got a bunch more, probably lots better than this.
