This is one of the results of target practising with the gulls. I think it's a ringed-bill gull but not sure.
D300 200-400@240mm, hand-held. Manual exposure mode, no flash, ISO 800 f4 1/1000sec. The usual pp steps. Cropped just a bit (based on suggestions received for last post).
In general I'd prefer some other wing positions, but I have also found many have posted shots of birds in fully extended, flat wing position with no "incident" ;) What's the consensus out there actually?
Desmond - nice image of what I also think is a Ring-billed Gull. I am totally impressed with the tack sharpness of this image; good light on the bird and good exposure.
For what it worth - I might crop a bit off the top so that from right wing tip to top is just the slightest bit more than the distance from left wing tip to bottom.

Hi Desmond Wing position wise i like the flaring pose Need help to capture since it involves tossing bread :) Do like it as presented, very sharp and well exposed with good under wing detail !!!
Well done Desmond,
I like the composition and capture. I like the flight angle and details on the wings. You have good head angle and a sharp eye...congrats...
