This is my second post on BPN..after the first trial upload.
Although Grey Heron is a very common subject, but this was an unusual moment for me to witness a Grey heron preying on a Moorhen Chick. The whole sequence of catching and gulping the chick finished in less than 90 secs and I was stunned by what happened so quick in front of me, while I was just attempting to approach closer-n-closer to the Heron without any anticipation of its hunt coming ahead !

    Location - Near London
    Technical Details - Canon 40D, 100-400 lens at 340mm , 1/125 , f/8 ISO 400, Monopod, Full frame image -no cropping.

    Cheers,

You captured a great behavior , although sad. But that's nature. Great comp. and detail in this.

Im a big fan of shots that show exciting and unusual behaviour, and this is great! I do think you could play around and try some different crops as well (although im not sure what the full size image looked like, so i dont know how much room there is/isnt to work with!)

    Saleel,
I like it. You got some nice action. Nothing to feel sad about this scene. One species will eat the other. That is how the balance of nature remains.
    Cheers,
