    Default American Oystercatcher

I'm going through some old files. I photographed this oystercatcher on Long Island in August in nice evening light and even had to remove the TC because he came so close.

Great pose and eye contact, great exposure control and light, love the ambient and BG! No nits to me here! Is this a juvenile?

    Congratulations!

Thanks, Ramon. This is an adult bird, the juveniles have darker eyes.

Great image, Axel. I like everything about it. I think that little bit of surf that goes just toward the edge of the frame is a real bonus.

    Default Great Image Axel

Whiile I'm sure there must be something that could be made better....I really like this just the way it is.

To me, it's one of the best Oystercatcher captures I've seen.
