I tried to post this in the ID section but there wasnt any 'attach files' at the bottom of the page-Anyways i took this image last week on the Outer Banks in NC and cant find an ID in my books
Any help is much appreciated
I think it's a Black Belly Plover in non-breeding plumage, but I'd wait for others to be sure. well exposed in soft light. Maybe place him a bit ore to the right and clone os some of the dark spots for a more neat look. It may need a slight CW rotation.
Thanks Fabs it sounds about right, The shot is uncropped so cropping is possible, I mainly put it up for ID purposes, The line above the bird is the sea line which was at an angle, I did have a double bubble on so it should be level, I shot it with a Nikon D300 600f4vr and 1.4x if anybody is interested
Agree with the other comments. I believe it's indeed a Black-bellied Plover, and in juvenile plumage (crisp, "spangly" -looking upperparts and clean white underparts).
