    Default Water Lily

I was going through some images from this past summer and found this water lily. It had such a gorgeous combination of colors that I don't know why I looked past it in the first place (except I took over 350 images that day...could that be it? ;))

Anyway, I ran an illustrated action on it and then an orton effect action and came up with this. The magentas and fuschias were too bright towards the end of the process so I pulled the saturation down just a bit. Then (being a woman and all) I changed my mind and put it back. :D

Julie, Really nice effects .What's an illustrated action? I like the center of the lily so much . It really looks neat!

Denise, if you go back in the gallery a bit you'll see lots of examples. It's basically an action that changes a photo into an illustrated drawing - almost comic book style but not quite. It works best on low-resolution images. You can find one to download free over at www.atncentral.com. I think it's called "dave's illustrated action." Try it on a high res image and then downsize it under 100 ppi and see how much stronger it gets.
