Hey H, I thought this was you flying the plane. I second your salute to all the brave men and women in the arm forces.
Like your composition in this capture.
Very fitting as we have Remembrance Day up here on November 11th. My Dad would have enlisted in the army for WWII, but he was too young. I can't imagine anyone being brave enough to go. But you are right we owe our lifestyle to these brave men and women.
Remembrance Day is also observed in Brazil. My wife and I were at the Royal British Legion Poppy Ball on Friday night, in the Copacabana Palace Hotel, and the Remembrance Service was held yesterday at the British Church. A lot of young Brits left the comfort of Brazil and returned to the UK to fight, in both World Wars. On the Roll of Honour, there are three brothers who all lost their lives in the trenches - can you imagine what it must have been like for their parents in Brazil, as one telegram after another got delivered? My father was a commander in the Royal Navy, on Tribal Class destroyers, escorting convoys on the Murmansk run. Open bridges, ice forming on the superstructure, horrendous seas, and waiting for a torpedo - not much fun! And yes, the boys from the US were very brave, and certainly turned the Nazi tide - I salute them as well.
