    Nice pose and detail. Light seems a bit harsh. I might tone down the bark a little.

    Nice pose, Ed. I agree with Joe re cropping a bit from the right to avoid the left edge of the trunk bisecting the image. BG looks lovely but the edge against the trunk looks as though it has been selected and blurred - may benefit from refining the edge to the selection to make it less obvious. Plumage could maybe handle a bit more sharpening.

    Tony, I certainly could crop a little bit from the right. While the left edge isn't really centered, it is between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way across the frame. As far as the background is concerned, looks may be deceiving. I did no selective anything to this image. And no burring at all. I did some USM to the whole image. And I made one pass through Neat Image Noise Reduction. That's not to say that transition couldn't be improved.
