I was lucky here as I was shooting coots and this guy flew from somewhere and sat just next to me.

    Specs: 100-400mm @ 400mm, 1/400 @ f/7.1, ISO 250, EC-1/3, Handheld

    Would like your opinion.

    Thanks,

Great light, portrait, BG colors and details. I might clone out the dark spot underneath the tip of the bill.

I like it a lot Nagesh. This image is an excelent compositional job. SUPERB BG and great sharpness. I only can imagine a way to improve it a little more and it is doing some white point adjustment and noise reduction on the BG. Something like this:

I am glad to hear that you liked :) Here are the steps I did: 1) duplicate layer, 2) in the new layer use de magic wand tool to select the BG and delete it, 3) made the white point adjustment at your choice on the egret, 4) turn the opacity of the layer about the 50% (you should fine the value that you like the most), 5) added a litle USM round to the egret 6) then I go to the main layer and I added a round of noise reduction and 7) save the image

Really nice image with a veru nice light and composition Nagesh
