    Hi Sid,
At first I thought this looked a little unbablanced and wished for the deer to be facing the tree. Then I noticed the second tree in the distance. With the deer facing away, and the BG tree being smaller due to distance, they both kinda lead my out back and out of the frame.

    Sid,
35mm? Is this a wild one?

Moody image. The tree and the mist gives an excellent feel to this image. The horizon needs a bit of counter clock wise rotation. I like the overall feel of this image.

Sid, this is a beautiful scene! Love the lighting and the BG - it all works! My one suggestion would be to think about removing the small tree that is directly to the left of the animal's head. It's barely visible but it keeps pulling my attention away from the animal's face.

    Steve,

I guess with a stationary subject with eye contact I am not getting the same feeling. Dead tree in the background is semi transparent in fog and I was trying to use it as a balance the whole image.

Yes. at 35mm. Cades cove deer are kind of used to people. Taking time and working right can put you very close.

After reading my post I realized I forgot to add I liked the effect. My fingers hit the submit button before I could finish typing :)
