Please compare with the one in the "Wildlife Forum", here: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=23582.

Which one do you like best?

The next couple of posts will be Spirit & Denali from today. Spirit was a little rough on her mate last night and he was limping just a bit from it all. When we got there today, he was chomping on a leg bone from a deer kill. He looked liked he was in wolf heaven, gnawing and licking the delicious tasty treat! We took several images in grey overcast skies, soft light and a slight mist. With Denali getting older and the arthritis getting worse, he does not run around much. Although he gave Spirit what for, when she tried to take the bone away.

It is hard to get anything more than portraits when Denali does not move around too much. So Let me know what you like here if you can. I will be posting a color version in the wildlife forum for comparison. Which one do you like best?

On Gitzo tripod with Wimberley 2 head from 15 feet away in a slight mist, overcast skies. Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, Shooting Date/Time: 11/9/2008 12:24:08, Shutter Speed 1/30Sec. Av(Aperture Value) F8.0, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation: 0, ISO 800, Lens: EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM. Full frame for a 12x18 print.

Grady, You captured a beautiful image here. I really like the orig. so much it's hard to say-if I never saw the orig. I'd say it couldn't get any better than this but having seen the orig. I like it best! I love your other shot of the 2 together as well-Really nice I look forward to seeing more.

Wow...that's a tough choice! I really like the b&w but I think the color is even more beautiful. It seems to really show the depth in his eyes better.
