    this is in response to Uncle Gus talking about the positioning in the Delta Formation. this is slot drivers 5 and 6. they do crazy stuff as in this one where they fly at each other and right when they get to each other they flip over sideways.

    this is where 7 frames per second comes in handy!! you follow one guy and when they get close you just hammer on the shutter til its over! and then you pray that you got it before the buffer filled up!!!! i got it!!:D if you couldnt tell, i was following the one closest to me. LUCKILY!!

    Great action shot . . . love it.

    Can now see why 5 & 6 were positioned at the outside in the Delta.

    Excellent Harold !! btw I saw on tv program a pair of Russian planes doing the same maneuver (similar) the they made contact All on tape .... its amazing both pilots ejected and were safe !!!

    Great motion capture Doctor Davis, how close do they fly anyway...it looks very very close for comfort...:eek::cool:

    gus if i had to guess they are probably about twenty feet away here. it's definitely an optical illusion!! as crazy as they are, they are really safe!!

    thanks, denise! fortunately i'm pretty tall (to see over the crowd) and can acquire them in the lens at far away distances!!
