hi mike! i like your robin!! i took it into capture nx and used a color control point on the face area to do a little lightening and contrast boost. in photoshop, that would be the same as the viveza plug in. also did just a little sharpening to the bird only. awesome background!! looks like you did some cloning out or added some canvas to the left side. the branch doesnt end naturally. you could extend it so that it continues out of the frame and it would be great!!

fantastic job!! keep up the great work!!

You are welcome Mike Don't ever forget it !!!

Now you got the bird large in frame, good perch, good position in frame .... so now you need light. Did all you could by raising the ISO but still only had 1/80s Difficult to make a sharp image with such a slow shutter speed but can be done.

When you confront the same slow shutter speed try locking down the tripod and holding as steady as possible. Every time I go out I make a few exposures with low shutter speeds at targets (signs with lettering or something with texture) just to check how I'm doing. I can't say that I make all sharp ones at 1/80 but I do get some !!!

thanks Harold and Alfred. this one was relatively easy. i'm trying a cardinal now and am having fits with its comb.
Thank you very much for welcoming me back, i know i frustrate people. i hope to have the cardinal in a day or two.
    thanks again,
    mike
i forgot the saturation too, and i think it would really show the breast well. i'll try it.
