    Default House Sparrow

    House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

    ISO 400 - 1/250th @ F7.1

    Hi,

I have only just found and registered with the site today and thought I'd post this shot of a House Sparrow who visits with his family and empties my feeders :D

    Canon 1D Mark II
    Sigma 500mm F4.5 EX HSM
    Tripod

PP'd in Lightroom v2.0, cloned a few dust bunnies, corrected exposure, slight sharpen, and then run through Neat Image NR.

    Thanks,

    Mike.

Welcome to BPN Mike! Very nice image to start off with. The pose and BG are terrific. I would only have placed the subject more to the left for compositional purposes (a bit centered as is ). I also think the small "stump" covering one of the feet is too bad, but not much you could do there except hope it perches further left or right next time. All in all well done - and looking forward to more :-)

P.S. I know what you mean about the House Sparrows emptying the feeders!!

EXP, BKGR, light, and pose all excellent. That little broken branch is a bummer. As is, could use a bit off of the left side.

Welcome to BPN. Nice soft light and BG. I agree with Artie and Daniel. I might try for a bit more DOF next time to get the feet in focus. Keep em' coming!

    Beaitul picture.
I would add some more canvas to the right and cut off a little bit from the left.
