This species of Duck is one of the earliest to arrive here locally and the most approachable giving
easy oppt. to get relatively close. I like the calling pose captured with this male and how the colors mimic the
    Ducks own colors .

Great quacking pose and eye contact, excellent detail too.

Excellent, Jim. I agree the colours of the plumage echoed by the BG and water are beautiful. Open beak adds to it.

I really love the water in this shot, especially the fore and mid ground colors. I might be tempted to crop a touch off the top if you don't mind a wider aspect ratio. Feather details are very good.

They are very approachable over at Santee! I like the raised head feathers and open beak.

As far as I'm concerned James you are one of the few people that cannot do anything wrong and agree with all above, the image is wonderful and now I will post the only Wigeon I have in my files. From what I understand they are not here very often and was very lucky to get what I got, Great, great image James.

I like this shot a lot! It feels like some CW rotation could help and IMO the clipped reflection is a nit, but still, terrific light ,pose and detail! Congratualtions!

Beautiful shot James, liked the sharpness. I wish they would been in their full bloom.

As is, I'd go for a crop from the top but even better would have been to point the camera down a bit--then you have more green water and the whole reflection...
