Quero quero is the Brazilian name for the southern lapwing.
I took this picture a few years ago in south east Brazil.I was laying on the ground and this bird came very close to me.This is the original file,no croping has being done.

    Hi Adam,

Very interesting bird. The composition works for me and the clean BG makes your subject POP!

Excellent lighting, color and detail Adam and I love the low angle. Also a stunning BG. Perhaps another possibllity in cropping would be to crop it vertically and make it a portrait.

    Hi Adams,

Beautiful bird, good exposure and nice clean background. You did very well with a 20D!!! :-) Will do either Venice rookery or Ding Darling NWR this weekend...

    Adam,

Very nice details and exposure control. I am really not a big fan of this composition. Inclusion of body along with head and taking tail and legs out kind of not working for me. I would crop it for a horizontal or vertical head shot.

Very nice... "Quero" in Portuguese means "I want". Not sure about why is it called that way though. I guess it could also be an onomatopoeic name...

    Cheers.

    Hi Alexandre,
When this bird is calling it sounds like he is saying Quero quero, i believe that is were the name came from.
