    A mixed group of Sanderlings and Dunlin recently at Plymouth Long beach in Plymouth MA on a rather gloomy day.

    Nikon D300, 500 AFSVR, TC14EII, F 14, ISO 600, 1/160, CW metering Near UniWB preset, +1.0 EV compensation applied.

    I love the fact that you can see the legs of the bird in the front, preety awesome shot! Congratulaitons!

    Like the salt and pepper look Jim. Also like that you can see the feet.

    Well done, Jim. It is difficult to get enough DOF in these type of images. The sand colour works well and even the dark weed clumps anchor the base of the image. Only small distraction is the darker area 1/3 up on right 1/4 - this could probably be lightened a little to match in with the rest
