I appreciate the feedback and comments on the previous airshow images. here's another. i got lots!!!

unfortunately one of the birds is overlapping the other. guess he was having an off day. he was two feet from his partner instead of the standard three.:eek:

Harold, how did you manage to get such great shots of such fast moving subjects with such a heavy lens?

Very well composed H. The Bigma has surely served you well on this trip. Great colors and details.

Nice Mr H - I would take it into PS and apply some motion blur to the back of the jets to give them a little added speed.

    :)

    Hi Harold:

Great shot ~ you did good young man. My only nit is not you but them . . going counter clockwise the numbers are not consecutive, but, 1, 2, 3, 6, 4, 5, and I think leader should be going a tad faster to keep spacing even, unless it is camera angle. You were sure close using only 174 mm focal length. Why not use a smaller lens?

You have presented us with an amazing series of great photos.

    Thanks for sharing

    Uncle Gus:D

hi cheryl. camera settings are key!! when i first got there the F/18 was performing and the high speed pass was his first maneuver. i missed it due to no AF lock. i was steaming mad and blamed the lens. just about took it off and slammed it on the concrete. ended up switching to the 18-200 with same problem. then realized i was on single AF instead of continuous. along with a couple other things i cant remember. once i got the camera dialed in it didnt matter which lens i used!!

just realized i may not have answered your question. i've been handholding that lens for over a year. you get used to it!! but even after five hours i was totally whipped!!!!

uncle gus, i found the 18-200 didnt give me the reach i wanted with some other shots. therefore deciding to stick with the bigma. besides, the wife ended up with that lens anyways!!:D

thanks for the comments guys! really appreciated!!!!!

    that did it!!! looks fantastic!!

the reason why they arent in order as you were saying is because 5 and 6 are opposing solos. they actually put on a show of their own!! i'll post one later to show you what i am talking about, but those guys have to be positioned to leave the pack and return quickly to keep the show going on!!

thanks for the re work......i like it a lot!
