Great species and colours! The shadowed light is nice and BG goes very well with the bird! Head turn is good and perch is killer! I wish for a little more USM. Congratulaitons Fabs!

Lovely looking bird, Fabs. It was obviously a leafy situation but the whole image looks to have quite a green cast to me. How does this version look to you?

I have been down there twice since they came back. Have only seen one banded male so far, but Rod would definitely know better if there are more yet or not. The real problem right now is there's still too much water there. These birds favor ground feeding, and the ground under the feeder is under water, and probably will be for a few more weeks. All you get are very quick trips to the feeder, and then back off to heavy cover.

I actually prefer these birds with the "looking back over the shoulder" pose. Their backs are just incredible.

The problem with Corkscrew is the light sucks in that area in the morning, and Rod hasn't stepped up yet and put out some nice posing branches near the feeders for us ;):D. He only puts out the "good" perches when he's there photographing them (If you've ever seen Rod's incredible PB images, you'd know what I mean;)). He'll probably miss this thread, so this perfectly good zing will go to waste :(
