    Default Election Day Hermit Thrush

    This thrush was much more interested in fattening up for migration in Central Park yesterday morning than the election. Whatever he was doing, I appreciated how unconcerned he was with my presence. Then I went home to vote. :) Is there too much blurred grass at the bottom?

    This is lovely, Beth. Lovely pose and head angIe. would crop in tighter but make sure there is enough left for the virtual legs. I would remove the orange leaf in the grass. Something like this;

    Hey Tony you wrote almost exactly the same critics I was going to write here:p
    I absolutely agree with Tony about the leaf but from my point of view both the landscape and vertical composition works fine here. Great low angle and eye contac. The amount of OOF grass in the FG is right to me. Very good idea to bring with you the camera gear to vote ;) good opportunities can be found in the most unexpected situations!

    Nice one Beth!

    I like the shot. I am ok with the oof grass at the bottom. Tony's crop makes it better. It would also look nice in the vertical as Juan has suggested. I like the sharpness of this image.

    I prefer the uncropped image, it has a great feeling of space created by the increasingly dark background at the top of the image. Like the others would get rid of the "leaf".

    Great Shot

    Thanks for the comments and suggestions! I think I agree with Hull Boy on the crop but I will concede on the leaf. ;)
