Richard this is one weird plant !!! Agree with Gus and its probably carnivorous !!! Suggest plenty of focal length !!!

Tough call on dof here, would probably take one of the extremes Wide open or as much as possible !!! Also might try a different angle trying to get a different bg !! I have to check that plant in person !!!!
