We were stalking a pair of feeding Mulga Parrots when the male flew up onto a stump and had a bit of a stretch. They are inhabitants of arid and semi-arid woodlands and scrub of Australia.

Anyone wanting have a go at the stump in front of the bird please feel free.
Lovely colours and pose Rob. Maybe a little more underwing detail would be nice. Here's a quick try at your suggestion. Lightening the bottom right may also be an option.
Absolutely incredible bird. The colour are just what one would expect from exotic parots. Tony's re-post does provide an improvement on the image. IMHO the bird seems a bit over sharpened ;-) A little selective masking and dodge and burn would help he underwing. All-in-all, though, a fine shot. Thanks for post.
I agree with Mark here. The bird, perch, and BG are awesome. The bird does appear oversharpened, but only a little. The repost is a big improvement on an already excellent image.
